Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol, and 58 of their artist friends are coming to Farmington!
Great art is coming to the Four Corners! Jackson Pollock and Andy Warhol are just two of the many talented and famous 20th-century artists whose work will be featured this summer at the Farmington Museum in the visiting exhibition,
“An Adventure in the Arts.”
The exhibition opens on Saturday, July 20 and will run through Saturday, September 21.
The exhibition features paintings, sculptures, and works on paper by a variety of significant artists that lived and worked in East Hampton area on Long Island in New York over the past 140 years. Included among the artists represented in the collection are: Chuck Close, George Bellows, Willem de Kooning, Max Ernst, Lee Krasner, Roy Lichtenstein, Thomas Moran, Childe Hassam, David Salle, Jasper Johns, Henri Cartier-Bresson, plus many more.
A selection of these works has been organized into a traveling exhibition entitled AN ADVENTURE IN THE ARTS which is now touring to a select group of museums throughout the United States for the first time. The exhibition is organized by Guild Hall in association with Landau Traveling Exhibitions of Los Angeles, CA.
The Farmington Museum at Gateway Park is located at 3041 East Main Street in Farmington, NM 87402. Admission for this special exhibition will be $5 for adults, $3 for students with ID, and $2 for children over 2 years. Info: (505) 599-1174.
Additionally, there is Family Programming offered in conjunction with this art exhibition. Family Programs are from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays; July 20, July 27, August 3 & August 10.
